White House Hosts Jewish American Heritage Month Celebration

After greetings from the first Jewish, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, President Joe Biden welcomed the 100+ attendees in the Rose Garden on May 20 for a celebration of Jewish American Heritage Month. Recognizing the many contributions of Jewish Americans to our country and society, President Biden also underscored the unfortunate rise in antisemitism. He also reiterated the US’s unwavering support of Israel.

It was inspiring to gather with many other NAJL members from Virginia, Wisconsin, Alabama, Michigan, Texas, Washington, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Massachusetts, and Colorado. Vice President Kamala Harris, US Attorney General Merrick Garland, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, AJC Executive Director Ted Deutch and many others also were in attendance.
